Nigerian comedian, humorist and musician the late DAVID ARIYO alias KOKORI of the popular 1970s NTA Benin satirical television comedy show Hotel De Jordan on his 1978 album. The series originally a stage production was created by dramatist, producer and activist Comrade Jonathan Ihonde and starred the likes of Sam Osamede as Chief Ajas the illiterate rural dictactor, Last Eguavoen as Dr Milo Monroe, Segun Actor Alile as Atatikolo, David Ariyo as Kokori, Sam Loco Efe as Chief Ukatabiribiri, Oritsegbemi O’Ray Slater as Casino Manager, Yesufu Eke as Lord Mayor, Richard Idubor as Bob Allan, David Oteri as Reverend Orujakpor, Emmanuel Oni as Usiobaifo, Joseph Edobor as the native doctor Okhue, Enaruna Agbonifo as Idemudia, Sam Adoko as Lance Corporal Jonah, Best Tongo as Chief Igho, Prince Edobor as Gberegedebeu the bank manager and the ubiquitous Captain Nnamani (forgot his name). The show became a must watch on weekends for many viewers. I still remember every word to the theme song, " Poor man dey suffer, ..... ....Uyi Obaseki
